Catit fountain filter compatibility: matching filters to models

Match PIXI, full-size Flower and Mini Flower fountains to the right filter family and part code. Avoid misleading titles, wrong pack sizes and assumed compatibility.

The short answer

Match the model, format and replacement code

Match the fountain family first, then the filter format and part code. PIXI uses PIXI filters; the selected full-size Flower cartridge pack is 43746; Mini Flower uses 44005. Catit also offers a distinct frameless Flower format. Do not buy from a generic heading alone, and do not assume that a round filter or the word triple-action establishes compatibility.

Calculate a mixed-fountain refill order without mixing families

Imagine planning three future filter changes for the fountains you already own. The examples count one correct replacement per fountain at each planned change; they do not set the interval between changes.

Two PIXI fountains × three changes61 × 6-pack0 unused; PIXI 43722: one six-pack covers six units[1]
One PIXI × three changes31 × 6-pack3 unused; PIXI units only; three filters remain from a six-pack[1]
One Mini Flower × three changes31 × 3-pack0 unused; Mini 44005: one three-pack; these do not replace the PIXI units[2]

A six-pack for two PIXI units can be one correct purchase. A six-pack for a PIXI-plus-Mini pair cannot be treated as six shared replacements simply because the total demand is also six.

For a full-size Flower, establish framed versus frameless format before doing the same arithmetic. A pack count is useful only after the supported family and format are established.

Sources for this comparison

  1. Catit PIXI pack codes — 43722 is the six-pack in the PIXI family.
  2. Catit Mini filters — 44005 is a three-pad Mini Flower pack.
  3. Catit Flower formats — Frameless Flower format remains a separate check.

Identify the fountain before choosing a pack

Catit fountain filters are easiest to buy when you separate three questions: which fountain you own, which filter format it takes and how many replacements the selected pack contains. A search result headed Catit filter can mix several families, older cartridges and third-party compatible products.

Start with the label or model information on the fountain itself and the instructions supplied with it. A cat-face body points towards PIXI, while a flower-shaped spout can appear on more than one size. Colour, a decorative top or a large reservoir in a photograph is not a complete model identification.

This reference compares the manufacturer-identified PIXI, full-size Flower and Mini Flower families. It also flags the separate frameless Flower format. It is not a universal fit list for every historical Catit fountain, unnamed imitation or differently branded product.

The compatibility table: family and format first

Use the table above as a starting point, then compare it with your exact instructions and selected package. The codes are filter-pack identifiers, not a list of fountain model numbers. A change in quantity can have a different code even when the individual filters belong to the same family.

Keep a note or photograph of the fountain label with the supported replacement information. This is particularly useful when several fountains are used in one home or a helper orders supplies. A stored photo of the last correct package can be more useful than relying on a saved search phrase.

If the fountain's identity is unclear, resolve it before ordering a bulk pack. Do not infer compatibility from a filter that can be pushed into the opening. Correct seating, support and the water path matter as well as the outside shape.

Catit PIXI genuine filters, 6 pack

Best for: PIXI fountain-family replacement filters

The six-pack PIXI filter format, part 43722. Match it to the PIXI fountain family; a Flower or Mini Flower filter is a separate choice.

What stands out

  • Genuine family-specific replacement
  • Different pack sizes have different part codes

Keep in mind

  • Not a full-size Flower or Mini filter
  • Confirm the model and selected package
  • 6 filters
  • PIXI family
  • Part 43722

Catit's PIXI replacement-filter information identifies the family for its Standard, Stainless Steel and Smart PIXI fountains. The selected genuine six-pack uses part code 43722. Its package quantity is different from the manufacturer's three-pack and twelve-pack options, even though they belong to the PIXI filter family.

Check that the purchase option still names the PIXI filter, the quantity you intend to buy and the correct manufacturer code. An Amazon page can group related options, and the title alone may not describe the selection currently shown. Read the chosen package rather than transferring details from another option.

The fact that Catit describes a filter as Triple Action does not make it the same shape or format as another Triple Action product. Keep PIXI replacement filters separate from the full-size Flower cartridges and the Mini Flower pads in your notes and storage.

For context about the fountain itself, our easy-clean fountain comparison includes the standard white PIXI. This page's purpose is replacement matching; choosing a filter is not a reason to replace a functioning fountain with a different model.

Full-size Flower: check the cartridge format

For full-size Flower cartridges

Catit full-size Flower cartridge filters, 5 pack

Best for: Full-size Flower cartridge-format replacements

The framed five-pack cartridge format, part 43746, listed for genuine full-size Flower and Fresh & Clear fountains. Check the exact fountain and format before changing to a frameless pad.

What stands out

  • Exact cartridge code stated
  • Distinct from PIXI and Mini families

Keep in mind

  • Not the Mini Flower filter
  • Frameless replacement formats need a separate check
  • 5 cartridges
  • Part 43746
  • Full-size Flower / listed Fresh & Clear models

The selected framed five-pack is part 43746. Its brand listing identifies genuine full-size Flower and specified Fresh & Clear fountains as the supported models. That does not establish compatibility with every product ever sold under a similar name, particularly an unnamed smaller fountain or imitation.

Before ordering, compare your manual's replacement description and the existing holder with the selected cartridge. Keep the word framed in the decision: a framed cartridge is a complete format, while a frameless pad is a separate replacement format. Pack size is another distinction; a five-pack is not interchangeable in the catalogue with a differently coded six-pack simply because both are genuine Catit.

If you own a Fresh & Clear fountain, confirm the exact model rather than relying on the family name alone. The selected listing's supported-model statement is the boundary of that product claim. If your manual identifies a different part, ask Catit to resolve the match.

This is also where a misleading retail heading can cause trouble. Some frameless Flower listings use a PIXI name in the heading while their detailed description refers to Flower. Treat a conflict as a reason to verify the part, not permission to combine two incompatible families into one recommendation.

Frameless Flower pads: a separate format check

Catit's Flower replacement-filter page describes frameless pads, including the 43738 two-pack and 43739 six-pack. These are distinct pack codes from the framed 43746 cartridges above. The manufacturer identifies them for the Flower family, but a broad family label should not be used to guess every older unit's supported arrangement.

If your supplied instructions specify a framed cartridge, confirm the supported replacement format before changing to a frameless pad. Check the exact holder and any manufacturer directions for that fountain. Do not discard parts, improvise a holder or assume an adapter is included because a listing photograph shows several items.

Conversely, if your fountain's instructions specify a frameless pad, buying an older framed pack solely because it says Flower is not a reliable match. Establish the actual format and code. When the needed revision information is missing, obtain it from the manufacturer before purchasing.

Check whether the selected Flower pack contains a rigid framed cartridge or frameless pads, and keep that format with the pack code in your refill note. A PIXI-labelled cartridge belongs to its own supported family.

Mini Flower: use the Mini replacement pad

For Mini Flower fountains

Catit Mini Flower genuine filters, 3 pack

Best for: Mini Flower fountain replacement pads

The Mini Flower replacement pad, part 44005. Its smaller fountain family needs its own filter, rather than a cut-down full-size Flower cartridge.

What stands out

  • Specific Mini Flower format
  • Pack and model code can be matched

Keep in mind

  • Not a PIXI or full-size Flower filter
  • Fit does not replace cleaning and water changes
  • 3 filters
  • Part 44005
  • Mini Flower family
Check price on Amazon ↗Check the selected model and package.

The Mini Flower uses its own pad. Catit's Mini replacement information identifies part 44005, and the selected genuine package contains three filters. The word Mini is essential: it is not simply a smaller quantity of the full-size Flower cartridge.

Compare the model label before buying around the flower-shaped drinking top. A visually similar spout does not prove the same filter fits underneath. The replacement pad's position and supported shape belong to the complete fountain design.

Do not cut a full-size cartridge or PIXI filter to fit a Mini holder. Altering the filter can change its structure and release contents, and apparent physical fit would not establish a supported water path. Use the exact replacement arrangement or seek the maker's advice.

Read the selected option, not just the search result

Check the manufacturer name, part number, package quantity and explicitly supported fountain models. Compare those with the photograph of the selected package and your own fountain information. A title that combines several keywords is less useful than a consistent code and model match.

A listing that says compatible with Catit is also different from a genuine Catit-branded pack. That distinction should be clear in the product description. The three shopping examples here are the selected genuine packs; their inclusion is not an independent comparison of filtration performance against every alternative.

When the delivered package arrives, compare it before opening or installing it. If the name or code is different from the intended part, resolve the discrepancy through the seller or manufacturer. Do not fit an uncertain filter merely because replacement time has arrived.

Fit and maintenance are separate jobs

Unplug the fountain and follow its installation sequence. Prepare the new filter as the maker directs, place it in the correct orientation and check that the holder or drinking assembly closes as intended. Do not force a lid down over a part that does not seat normally.

Keep the model's cleaning and replacement routine. A correctly matched filter does not clean a dirty pump, remove the need for water changes or prove that every water-quality concern is resolved. Follow the relevant directions if the filter becomes saturated or the water flow changes.

A compatible cartridge still needs the fountain’s washing, water-change and pump-care routine. It does not turn the fountain into a treatment for illness. Changes in a cat's drinking habits deserve appropriate veterinary attention.

Sources and scope

Catit's PIXI, Flower and Mini replacement pages establish the families and named formats. The selected Amazon UK product details identify the shopping packs, including the framed 43746 cartridge. Follow the exact fountain instructions where a historical variant or format is unclear; no universal compatibility is inferred from a shared marketing phrase.

For a different brand, use the separate Cat Mate filter guide or Drinkwell filter guide; shared cartridge shapes are not proof of fit.

Frequently asked questions

Can a Catit PIXI filter go in a Flower Fountain?

Do not treat the families as interchangeable. Catit identifies PIXI replacement filters separately from full-size Flower and Mini Flower filters. Match the exact fountain and pack code before buying; a similar outline or filtration description does not prove the cartridge seats correctly.

Which filter fits the Mini Flower Fountain?

Catit identifies part 44005 as the Mini Flower replacement filter; the selected genuine pack contains three pads. This is a separate family from the full-size Flower cartridge and PIXI filters. Confirm the actual fountain label rather than using colour or a flower-shaped spout alone.

Are frameless Flower pads the same purchase as the older framed cartridges?

They are different formats and pack codes. Catit’s frameless Flower pads include 43738 and 43739, while the selected framed five-pack is 43746. Confirm the format supported by your exact fountain and instructions before switching; the broad Flower family name does not answer every revision question.

What should I do if the Amazon title and package code disagree?

Stop and compare the selected option, package photograph, manufacturer part number and your fountain instructions. Ask the seller or Catit to resolve the discrepancy before ordering. If the delivered part is uncertain, do not force it into the holder or trim it to fit.

Does fitting a new filter mean I can skip cleaning the fountain?

No. A replaceable filter is only one component. The reservoir, drinking surface, pump and any other permitted removable parts still need the maker’s cleaning routine, along with fresh water and level checks. Compatibility is not a promise of sterilisation or a treatment for illness.
